Are the learning actitivites you are doing resulting in your students actually learning?

Curriculum is supposed to be a help to you in teaching. If your curriculum is not helping your student learn, and you have to re-design the lessons to make learning happen then your curriculum is not doing its job. It is actually a hindrance that you are taking precious time to re-work.
Curriculum is supposed to help us not hinder us.
Especially for younger kids, if the learning activities do not result in learning then they are nothing but a waste of time, no matter what the sales and marketing materials have told you the product can do for your child. Don't get suckered in by marketing materials and have your kids wasting their time doing stuff that doesn't help them learn and grow.

I love your comment "no matter what the sales and marketing materials have told you the product can do for your child." That is so right that sometimes we feel like it must be that we're doing something wrong because "they" said it was supposed to do X.Y.Z.
I was almost afraid to come read since my recent post is named Projects and Experiments hehehe
