Friends log on to their xBox360 account at the same time, open their Netflix accounts and queue up the same movie or TV show. Each friend's avatar is seen at the bottom of the screen similar to what you see when you sit in a real movie theatre and have the backs of heads in front of you.
As you view the show you hold the remote control and select emotions to share such as sad, happy, funny, or bored. Your avatar then makes certain movements to indicate the mood. The sad emotion cries tears then had a cloud hanging over their head raining down.
I don't actually know how many people do this but it seems funny to me.
Here are photos I took from a scene in Lost season 2 where Jack tells his patient she has a bad spinal injury that probably can never be repaired. My son's avatar is displaying sad.
