A friend posted a link to a site that analyzes our writing and then says what famous writer we write like.
I submitted a long blog post I published recently about my parenting journey. The result was H.P. Lovecraft, a writer of "cosmic fiction", described as a blend of fantasy, science fiction and horror.
I cracked up to think that my parenting journey is that blend.
Well it says the writing is like so perhaps it means tone and style? I don't think I trust that computer program.
I submitted a second entry out of curiosity, an emotional (unpublished) essay about my grandmother's death and dying process. It came out Cory Doctorow who writes science fiction, is a journalist and a blogger at BoingBoing.
I don't put much credibility in this writing analysis. In any event it's a marketing thing for a site that wants to sell services to writers aspiring to be published.
