HSLDA has published a brochure available both on paper and as a free digital download. This has three tracks:
general high school
general college prep
rigorous college prep
If you want to see what this looks like laid out on one sheet of paper, check it out: Developing a Plan for High School.
I discovered this when I picked up the brochure at a homeschool support group meeting last week. My friend who has one child in homeschool high school already said this is a great quick reference.
Can you tell I'm starting to get worried about this? My older son is finishing up his seventh grade year now.

More food for thought:

The book is OOP, but if you can get your hands on a copy of The Homeschooler's Guide to Portfolios & Transcripts by Loretta Heuer, I highly recommend it.
We've got a long time until my oldest needs to worry about college but we're considering enrolling her in the Stanford EPGY Online High School starting in 7th grade. So I've been feeling lately that I need to start getting serious about planning what I'll need to cover with her in the next 4 grades.
