Son, age 9: Mom do you think cats can talk English?
Me: No.
Son: I mean, when we leave the room do they talk to each other in English?
Me: No.
Son: When I grow up I'm gonna test that. I'm going to set out a recorder then leave the room. Then I'll see what they say when they're alone.
